East Mississippi Community College pledges to provide high-quality, holistic music education to every student that chooses to pursue a career in Music Education or Music Performance through exceptional faculty instruction, excellent pedagogy, and a wide array of performing ensembles. Here at EMCC, we are committed to offering a 2 year program capable of preparing the student for extended study towards a Bachelor’s Degree at any senior college in the state of Mississippi or elsewhere. Through our program, we hope to provide the East Mississippi area with qualified music educators, pedagogues, and artists that will continue to enrich and inspire others for years to come.

Students looking to major in Percussion at EMCC can find a wide variety of unique opportunities and experiences! Each year, the EMCC Percussion Studio takes their sophomores to compete at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, IN! While there, students will enjoy world class concerts, clinics, and experience the largest gathering of percussionists in the world!
